Modern Foodie Reno

If you're looking for a delightful, homelike, "wine & dine" experience, a kitchen renovation design like this one offers just that. This project's homeowners were all about experimentation, and their main goal was to try as many new things as we could think of without breaking the budget. The final product presents a show of culinary gadgets nestled in a clean and simple palette of finishes and fixtures with beautiful contrast.

Sleek black base cabinets with slim shaker panels were selected to visually ground the footprint of the kitchen within its surrounding bright, open context. The vertical slats on the peninsula side and back panels contribute a modern millwork detail, which is paired with non-milled white oak accents throughout the kitchen that are kept smooth and functional. A simplistic yet upscale energy is created by this recipe of moody-modern and light-and-airy elements. The clean white quartz countertops, high-gloss white subway backsplash, and brass fixtures complete the look of a high-end cooking space.

While most of the kitchen's storage is tucked behind the pantry pocket door, what it displays most openly is its parade of an appliance package - some of which are tucked into the two alcoves constructed plan south of the primary cooking space. This Bosch, XO, and Frigidaire Pro assortment includes a counter-depth energy star refrigerator and double door freezer, an energy star certified dishwasher, a FlexInduction cooktop, a low profile under-counter microwave drawer, double wall ovens, a gourmet ice maker, two under-counter beverage coolers, and a luxurious built-in coffee machine. Several of these come with an integrated HomeConnect software for enhanced user operation. All the perfect ingredients for the modern stay-at-home foodie.
